KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) Former Gateway Excessive Faculty instructor’s aide Louisa Theresa Hernandez, 38, was indicted Wednesday for improper relationship between educator and scholar after a relationship that, in accordance with an arrest affidavit, began with rides to high school and led to sexual contact led to her arrest on Dec. 10, 2019, two days earlier than her birthday.
The cost stems from an investigation of allegations Hernandez “had an improper relationship with a male scholar throughout the 2018-2019 faculty 12 months,” police spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez mentioned in a press launch on the time of the arrest.
The coed was 17 on the time, faculty officers mentioned.
Hernandez “initially gave rides to and from faculty to (the) sufferer” and later communicated with him by way of Instagram, the affidavit says.
She admitted that the boy stimulated her manually and the boy mentioned she “had touched his sexual organ together with her hand,” the affidavit says.
The coed’s mom noticed Hernandez hug the boy in June 2019, “which is believed to be the final in-person contact between suspect and sufferer,” the affidavit says.
Hernandez was suspended after the district discovered of and started investigating the allegations and has since been fired, the Killeen ISD mentioned in an announcement Tuesday afternoon.
She was employed in 2017, left the district briefly after which returned in January.
“We’re working intently with Killeen police on this matter, and if the allegations show true, we’ll assist the strongest potential authorized motion in opposition to this worker,” Superintendent John Craft mentioned.
